Solar-Powered Water Pumps Delivered to Masafer Yatta Communities

Under the supervision and participation of the Yatta Agriculture and Veterinary Directorate, the Agricultural Development Association (Agricultural Relief), with funding from Save the Children, delivered mobile, solar-powered submersible water pumps to several communities in Masafer Yatta. This initiative is part of the Ministry's programs aimed at improving agricultural services in marginalized areas.

This intervention aims to enhance water availability for livestock breeders in the targeted communities by providing practical and sustainable solutions for pumping water from public Roman wells and reservoirs. This addresses the livestock's needs in light of resource scarcity and the lack of electricity, as the pumps can reach depths of approximately 14 meters.

The delivered pumps are characterized by their reliance on solar energy and their ease of transport and use, allowing them to be operated in multiple locations as needed and enhancing their efficiency in open grazing environments. This activity is being implemented as part of the “Strengthening the Resilience of Palestinian Families” project, implemented in partnership with Agricultural Relief and funded by Save the Children, with support from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in line with the Ministry’s directions to support agricultural communities affected by restrictions and violations, and to improve agricultural livelihoods in areas classified as (C).
