Ministry of Agriculture: Jenin Agriculture Directorate and the Palestinian Hydrologists Group, established a 50-kilowatt solar power unit in the town of Farasin.

Under the supervision and participation of Jenin Directorate of Agriculture and implemented by the Palestinian Hydrologists Group, a 50-kilowatt solar power unit was installed in the Farasin Village Council. Funded by a Dutch project, the unit aims to support farmers and contribute to reducing the cost of pumping and delivering agricultural water to their lands, thus alleviating their burdens and expenses.

The project was implemented with the participation of several staff members from Jenin Directorate of Agriculture, as part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to improve agricultural infrastructure and provide practical solutions that serve farmers and contribute to providing a sustainable energy source for water pumping operations. This enhances their ability to access the water necessary for production and to cultivate their agricultural lands.

The Ministry of Agriculture emphasizes that renewable energy projects related to agricultural production are a priority given the limited resources and high agricultural needs. It also highlights the importance of adopting production-supporting systems that contribute to reducing input costs, increasing farm profitability, improving resource utilization efficiency, and raising agricultural land productivity. The Ministry indicates that the establishment of the solar energy unit in Farasin is part of its efforts to support farmers and enhance their ability to continue cultivating their agricultural lands, develop production methods, and improve resource efficiency. This will strengthen the sustainability of the agricultural sector and alleviate the economic burdens on farmers.

The Ministry of Agriculture continues to work in partnership with supporting institutions and organizations to implement projects that address the actual needs of farmers, support the development of agricultural infrastructure, and utilize renewable energy in production, thereby contributing to the resilience of farmers and the sustainability of the agricultural sector.
