Ministry of Agriculture: Under the supervision and participation of Qabatiya/Jenin Agriculture Department, Agricultural Relief begins distributing supplies for the rehabilitation of grape farms for 71 farmers in southern of Jenin

Under the supervision and participation of the Jenin Agriculture Directorate, represented by South Jenin Agriculture Department, the Agricultural Relief Association began implementing the first phase of distributing supplies for rehabilitating existing vineyards to beneficiary farmers in the southern Jenin region. This initiative is part of joint efforts aimed at supporting the agricultural sector and strengthening the resilience of farmers.

The distribution targeted 71 farmers who own existing vineyards, each covering an average of one dunam (approximately 0.25 acres), distributed across four areas: Qabatiya, Zababdeh, Masilya, and Raba. The first phase included distributing the necessary metal components for constructing agricultural trellises, which are essential elements in developing vineyards and improving their agricultural management. Jenin Agriculture Directorate emphasizes the importance of this intervention in supporting grape farmers and improving production efficiency. Approximately 3,400 dunams are planted with grapes in these areas, and the agricultural trellises contribute to improved ventilation and sunlight exposure, facilitating agricultural operations and harvesting. This positively impacts fruit quality and increases productivity.

The project is expected to enhance the economic returns for beneficiary farming families, increase the competitiveness of the grape crop, and encourage farmers to invest in developing their farms and improving their productive sustainability.

This activity is part of the "Improving Livelihoods, Food Security, and Sustainable Economic Growth in the West Bank and Gaza Strip – Palestine" project, which aims to enhance food security, improve the living conditions of farming families, and support sustainable agricultural development in targeted areas. This is achieved through the implementation of a range of activities and interventions that contribute to developing agricultural production and strengthening farmers' resilience on their land.
