The local committee for the National Olive Harvesting Campaign in Tulkarem Governorate held a meeting with the governor to discuss preparations for the olive harvest season and formulate a joint action plan. The meeting, attended by Tulkarm Directorate of Agriculture and various partner institutions and entities.
Participants included heads of municipalities and village councils, as well as representatives from the Commission Against the Wall and Settlements, Military Liaison, Public Works, Customs Police, the Public Health and Safety Committee, Agricultural Relief, Civil Defense, the Red Crescent, and the Union of Farmers' Associations, alongside other partner institutions. The meeting was also attended by the Director General of the Tulkarm Directorate of Agriculture, Engineer Ashraf Anabtawi.
Anabtawi emphasized that the Directorate is working—in coordination with local bodies and partner institutions—to identify areas most in need of support and to assess farmers' requirements. Efforts also include forming local committees to monitor the season and establishing a high-level committee, by decision of the Tulkarm Governor, to unify efforts and enhance coordination.
The meeting also addressed aspects related to public health, safety, and the environment, as well as the organization of a central olive-harvesting event and local initiatives to support farmers throughout the season.
These preparations are part of the efforts undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture, Tulkarem Governorate, and their partners to ensure early and organized planning for the "Olive 2026" campaign, facilitate farmers' access to their lands, and strengthen their steadfastness and attachment to their land.
