The technical committees of the Ministry of Agriculture, represented by the local committees and the committees for the EU-funded agricultural assistance program, continued their field visits to monitor and receive several agricultural projects implemented for farmers in the governorates of Qalqilya, Hebron, Ramallah, and Tubas. This is part of the ongoing monitoring of the program's projects and verification of their compliance with approved technical specifications.
In Qalqilya Governorate, the local committee completed its field visits to beneficiaries in Arab al-Khouli community, where it received several agricultural projects. These included a cattle breeding project with 8 head of cattle, in addition to three goat breeding projects: one with 26 goats and feed, another with 24 goats, and a third with 26 goats. The aim of these projects is to support farmers, enhance their income sources, and improve their ability to sustain agricultural production.
The implementation of these projects comes amidst the difficult circumstances faced by the residents of the community due to repeated attacks by settler herders. These attacks include physical assaults, the closure of grazing lands, and grazing on crops, in addition to daily harassment aimed at displacing the residents and forcing them off their land.
In Hebron Governorate, the relevant committee received two water collection tanks for farmers, one in Sa'ir area and the other in Ash-Shuyukh area. This aims to support the farmers' resilience and enhance their ability to secure water sources for agricultural use.
The technical committees in Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate also continued to oversee the implementation of several agricultural projects. These included the construction of agricultural sheds in Yabrud, Deir Dibwan, and Al-Janiya areas, as well as the drilling of agricultural wells and the construction of greenhouses in the Sinjil, Abu Falah, and Ras Karkar areas.
In Tubas Governorate, the local committee received greenhouses and agricultural equipment for a number of farmers in Salhab and Aqaba areas. The Ministry of Agriculture affirms that these field visits come within the framework of ensuring the quality of project implementation and achieving the desired goals of the agricultural assistance program, which contributes to strengthening the resilience of farmers, improving agricultural production, and supporting the livelihoods of rural communities in various governorates of the West Bank.
