Ministry of Agriculture: The national campaign has exceeded 43,000 vaccination and tagging operations for livestock and continues its work in Masafer Yatta and the northern Jordan Valley during the third day of its second week.

• 2,950 additional head of livestock were vaccinated on the third day of the second week against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1).
• 3,320 head of livestock were included in the national livestock tagging program.
• The campaign was completed in Zuweidin, Umm Qussa, Umm al-Khair, and al-Kharba in Masafer Yatta, and Khirbet Ibziq and the Tubas Plain in the northern Jordan Valley.

The Ministry of Agriculture continues to implement the national campaign for livestock vaccination and tagging, including preventative vaccination against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1). For the third day of the second week, its veterinary teams continued implementing the campaign in the Masafer Yatta and northern Jordan Valley areas, as part of its efforts to protect livestock, reduce the spread of epidemic diseases, and strengthen the national livestock tagging system.

On the third day of the campaign, 2,950 sheep were vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1), while 3,320 sheep were tagged. Fifty-three livestock farmers benefited from the campaign, which is part of the national program aimed at promoting herd health and improving tracking and control procedures for epidemic diseases.

In the Masafer Yatta area, veterinary teams completed their work in the areas of Zuweidin, Umm Qussa, Umm al-Khair, and al-Kharba, where 1,700 sheep were vaccinated and 2,100 were tagged, benefiting 46 farmers.

In the northern Jordan Valley, the Tubas Directorate of Agriculture and Veterinary Services continued the campaign in Khirbet Ibziq and the Tubas Plain, where 1,250 sheep were vaccinated and 1,220 were tagged, benefiting seven farmers. Thus, the total number of livestock vaccinated and numbered by the national campaign since its launch has risen to more than 43,620 head, as part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s efforts to protect livestock, enhance the resilience of livestock breeders, and improve the animal health system in various targeted areas.
