The National Campaign for Livestock Vaccination and Tagging, and Preventive Vaccination against Foot-and-Mouth Disease (SAT-1), continued its field progress, with the cumulative total reaching 76,670 vaccinations and taggings since its launch. This is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to strengthen the animal health system, reduce the spread of epidemic diseases, and protect livestock in the targeted areas.
On the fifth day of the third week of the campaign, veterinary teams carried out operations in the Khashm al-Karm and Khashm al-Daraj areas of Masafer Yatta. They vaccinated 1,000 head of livestock against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1) and tagged 1,300 head as part of the national livestock tagging program. Twenty-five livestock breeders benefited from the campaign's services.
The total number of operations completed that day reached 2,300, including 1,000 vaccinations and 1,300 taggings. The national campaign continues to achieve its objectives of strengthening foot-and-mouth disease prevention, improving the efficiency of the national tagging system, protecting livestock, enhancing biosecurity, and supporting the resilience of livestock breeders in the targeted areas.
