The Customs Police, in cooperation with Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate, seized a shipment of watermelons of unknown origin due to the lack of a proper transport permit. This action is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's ongoing efforts to monitor agricultural products and regulate their distribution in the markets.

The Ministry of Agriculture clarifies that an official agricultural seizure report was prepared for the confiscated quantity, which was impounded at the merchant's premises in accordance with regulations, pending completion of the necessary legal procedures as per applicable laws and instructions.

The Ministry emphasizes that these measures are part of its efforts to protect the Palestinian agricultural market from products of unknown origin and those that do not comply with legal procedures. This ensures increased consumer confidence in local produce, protects Palestinian farmers from unfair competition, maintains price stability, and regulates the distribution of agricultural products in the markets.

The Ministry stresses its commitment to continuing field inspection tours in cooperation with partner agencies and taking legal action against violators. This contributes to protecting national produce and maintaining the safety and quality of agricultural products circulating in the Palestinian market.
