As part of its ongoing monitoring of the aquaculture sector and its efforts to understand the needs of fish farmers, the General Directorate of Fisheries at the Ministry of Agriculture conducted an inspection visit to several fish farms in Tulkarem Governorate.
The tour included the Director General of Fisheries, Raed Abu Khalil, and the Director of Aquaculture, Abdul Ghaffar Dawabsheh, accompanied by the Director General of the Tulkarem Agriculture Directorate, Engineer Ashraf Anabtawi, and the Director of the Extension Services Department, Engineer Baraa Al-Ghoul.
The visit encompassed fish farms in the towns of Attil and Faroun, where the delegation observed production processes and operational mechanisms and listened to the main challenges and needs faced by fish farmers.
During the meetings, technical guidance and necessary recommendations were provided to the farmers to enhance production efficiency and improve breeding and management methods. This aims to contribute to the development and sustainability of the aquaculture sector and improve production quality, thereby serving food security and supporting farmers in the governorate.
This visit is part of the field tours carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture to monitor various agricultural sectors, enhance direct communication with farmers, and provide technical and advisory support in a way that contributes to the development of agricultural production and the achievement of sustainable development.
