The Ministry of Agriculture continued its national campaign for the tagging and vaccination of animals against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1) on its fifth day. Veterinary teams carried out vaccination and tagging operations in several pastoral communities in Masafer Yatta and the Northern Jordan Valley, as part of its efforts to protect livestock and strengthen the resilience of livestock breeders in the targeted areas.

In this context, teams from Yatta Agriculture and Veterinary Directorate carried out tagging and vaccination operations in the areas of Howara, Abu Shaban, and Khallat Amira in Masafer Yatta. 2,000 sheep and goats were vaccinated, while 2,500 animals were tagged, as part of efforts to enhance prevention of epidemic diseases and develop the national livestock database.

The Veterinary Department of the Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate continued its campaign in Tubas Plain, vaccinating and tagging 500 sheep and goats. This initiative is part of the Ministry's efforts to reach pastoral communities and enhance livestock protection.

This campaign is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's strategy to strengthen the animal health system and reduce the spread of transboundary diseases. It also aims to build an accurate livestock database through the national tagging system, thereby improving tracking and veterinary response, and protecting the livelihoods of livestock breeders.

With this, the total number of sheep and goats vaccinated and tagged in the national SAT-1 vaccination and tagging campaign has reached over 24,000 since its launch. This reflects the Ministry of Agriculture's ongoing efforts to protect livestock, enhance food security, and bolster the resilience of farmers and breeders in the targeted governorates.
