The Local Committee in Jenin for The 2025 Olive Campaign Held its Coordination Meeting to Discuss Its Work Plan

Jenin Governorate Directorate of Agriculture, the Governorate, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, and partner institutions held a comprehensive meeting in the Governorate Hall. The meeting was opened by the Director General of the Jenin Governorate Directorate of Agriculture, Engineer Raed Abu Khalil, the Assistant Governor of Jenin, Ahmed Al-Qassam, the Director of Local Government, Engineer Marwa Ghazal, and the Director General of the National Economy, Jalal Abu Baker. The meeting focused on discussing the operational mechanisms for the 2025 Olive Campaign, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture. Representatives from the Jenin Governorate, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the Civil Affairs Department, the Political Guidance Department, the Military Liaison Office, the Police, the Civil Defense, the Youth and Sports Department, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, and the Public Relations Departments of the security services (Intelligence, National Security, Preventive Security, and Customs), as well as agricultural institutions such as the Agricultural Relief Committee, the Ma'an Development Center, and the Land Research Center, were also present. Official institutions represented included the Local Government, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, the Ministry of Education, the Environmental Quality Authority, the Ministry of Economy and Industry, the Popular Committee, and the Insan Association. Representatives from the agricultural departments in Qabatiya and Mithlon, along with directors and staff from the Jenin Governorate Directorate of Agriculture, also attended.

During the meeting, a work agenda was discussed to ensure the success of the upcoming olive harvest season, considered a national imperative given the exceptional circumstances the country is facing. The committee emphasized that the campaign builds upon the successes of the "Al-Faza'a 2024" campaign, which contributed to reducing unharvested areas and increasing olive production.

The local committee approved the general plan and key themes of the campaign, which aims to support farmers and protect agricultural lands as a cornerstone of national sovereignty. The importance of coordination among all parties was stressed to ensure that support reaches the most threatened areas. A thorough discussion took place among the partners to assess the current situation, with the Director of Civil Affairs briefing attendees. A small committee was selected from among the partners to identify areas for activities, develop programs, and establish a central event at the governorate level.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the local committee emphasized that the 2025 Olive Campaign carries a national message reflecting the Palestinian people's attachment to their land and their resilience in the face of displacement and confiscation attempts. Specific areas were agreed upon and tasked to the small committee and specialists from the Ministry of Agriculture for further study.
