The Land Research Center, in cooperation with Sa’ir Agriculture and Veterinary Department , conducted a training session for 32 farmers participating in the project, "Enhancing Land Productivity and Climate Change Adaptation through Afforestation," in the town of Sa’ir. This initiative, part of the project’s 2025 activities, aimed to strengthen farmers' capacities, improve agricultural productivity, and promote sustainable farming practices resilient to the impacts of climate change.
The training covered several key agricultural topics, most notably climate-smart agriculture, fertilization methods, and the appropriate use of various types of fertilizers. It also provided a detailed explanation of nutrient deficiency symptoms in plants, how to diagnose them, and how to address them—enabling farmers to better manage their crops and increase the efficiency of agricultural inputs.
Furthermore, the training explored various agricultural practices and activities that contribute to improving land productivity, enhancing the management of agricultural resources, and mitigating the negative effects of climate change on the agricultural sector.
This training is part of a joint effort to bolster agricultural extension services, develop farmers' knowledge and technical skills, and encourage the adoption of sustainable farming practices. These efforts are intended to boost the productivity of agricultural land, empower farmers to confront climate-related challenges, and foster long-term sustainability within the agricultural sector.
