On the third day of the tagging and vaccination campaign: The Ministry of Agriculture raises the total number of sheep and goats vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1) to more than 14,500

The Ministry of Agriculture has increased the number of sheep and goats vaccinated in the national campaign for the tagging and preventative vaccination of livestock against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1) to more than 14,500 since its launch. This increase follows the completion of vaccination and tagging operations on the third day of the campaign in several targeted communities in the Hebron and Tubas governorates.

On the third day, the ministry's veterinary teams vaccinated 4,500 sheep and goats against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1) and tagged another 4,500, benefiting 58 livestock breeders.

In Yatta Agriculture Directorate, veterinary teams carried out vaccination and tagging operations in the areas of Safa al-Fouqa, Safa al-Tahta, Mughayir al-Abeed, Susya, Wadi al-Rahim, and al-Tuba. A total of 2,500 sheep and goats were vaccinated against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1), and 4,000 head were tagged, benefiting 40 livestock owners.

In the Tubas and Northern Jordan Valley Agriculture Directorate, the Veterinary Department continued its campaign in Ras al-Ahmar and al-Hamma areas, vaccinating 2,000 sheep and goats against foot-and-mouth disease (SAT-1) and tagging 500 head, benefiting 18 livestock owners.

This campaign is part of the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts to protect livestock from epidemic diseases and strengthen the tagging and tracking system. This contributes to providing an accurate database for the livestock sector, improving veterinary services provided to livestock owners, and enhancing their resilience and the sustainability of their livelihoods. The ministry affirms the continuation of the campaign in all targeted areas according to the established program, calling on livestock breeders to cooperate with field teams and take advantage of the services provided to ensure the campaign's objectives of protecting and developing the livestock sector and enhancing food security are achieved.
