Olive Department, represented by Engineer Ramez Obeid, in cooperation with the North Hebron Agriculture Directorate, conducted an assessment campaign of olive presses in the North Hebron area. The assessment, carried out by a specialized company under the supervision of Engineer Taher Ameer, covered ten presses.
The campaign aimed to identify the most important interventions needed to improve the operation of the presses, increase operational and production efficiency, reduce oil loss in the pomace, and enhance the quality of the final product. This assessment will be followed by the provision of small grants to the targeted presses to implement the interventions and technical recommendations developed by the specialized company.
These activities are part of "My Initiative – Empowering Marginalized Communities through Investment in Agricultural Business Development" project. This project is implemented in partnership between the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with support from the International Bill & Melinda Gateway (IBSA) Fund, which includes India, Brazil, and South Africa. The project aims to build the technical and institutional capacities of farmers and promote sustainable rural development in the targeted areas.
