Salfit Directorate of Agriculture, through its Olive and Rural Development Departments, conducted specialized training on the production of olive oil ointments and soaps. This training was part of the "Field Schools" activities under "My Initiative" project, targeting female farmers participating in the field school in Iskaka area of Salfit Governorate. Fifteen women participated in the four-day training.

The training witnessed active engagement and participation from the participating farmers. Manufacturing expert Sahera Hamdan delivered a practical and technical presentation on methods for producing ointments and soaps using olive oil, which contributes to enhancing the added value of agricultural products and opening up opportunities for small-scale production projects.

At the conclusion of the training, the participants expressed their appreciation for this high-quality training, emphasizing the importance of acquiring modern skills in agricultural manufacturing and their role in developing sustainable small projects that contribute to improving income and empowering rural women. They also stressed the importance of continuing training programs and providing technical support to female farmers in the targeted areas. The implementation of these activities comes within the framework of the “My Initiative – Empowering Marginalized Communities through Investment in Agricultural Business Development” project, which is implemented in partnership between the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with support from the IBSA Fund, which includes India, Brazil and South Africa, with the aim of building the technical and institutional capacities of farmers and promoting sustainable rural development in the targeted areas.
