Minister Slaimiya discusses with the elected council of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate ways to develop joint cooperation to serve the agricultural sector

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiya, met with the newly elected board of the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate, headed by Syndicate President Eng. Younis Yameen, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in serving the agricultural sector. The meeting was held at the Ministry headquarters and attended by several members of the Syndicate's board.

During the meeting, Minister Slaimiya emphasized the vital role of agricultural engineers in developing the agricultural sector, stressing that they are a cornerstone in strengthening farmers' resilience and improving agricultural production, especially given the challenges facing this vital sector.

He noted the Ministry's commitment to strengthening its partnership with the Agricultural Engineers Syndicate and working collaboratively to develop agricultural policies and programs that support farmers and improve the efficiency of the extension and technical services provided to them.

Slaimiya also emphasized the importance of empowering recent graduates and creating job opportunities for them by involving them in agricultural programs and projects and utilizing their skills to serve sustainable agricultural development. During the meeting, discussions focused on the affairs and professional needs of agricultural engineers, as well as mechanisms for optimizing the use of agricultural land through the syndicate. This aims to contribute to the establishment of sustainable development projects that boost production and create job opportunities.

For his part, the Syndicate President, Eng. Younis Yameen, and members of the Syndicate Council reviewed the most prominent priorities for the coming period. They emphasized the Syndicate's readiness to strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and to work jointly to develop the agricultural engineering profession and defend the rights of engineers, which will positively impact the agricultural sector.

The meeting also addressed the development of training and qualification programs, enhancing the role of agricultural engineers in agricultural extension, and supporting entrepreneurial initiatives in the agricultural sector.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation to contribute to achieving sustainable agricultural development and strengthening the resilience of farmers on their land.
