The General Assembly of the Jordanian-Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products holds its annual meeting in Amman

The General Assembly of the Jordanian-Palestinian Company for Marketing Agricultural Products held its annual meeting at the company's headquarters in Amman, Jordan. The meeting was attended by the Palestinian Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiya, the Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Saeb Khraisat, and members of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors.

At the outset of the meeting, Minister Slaimiya extended his warmest congratulations to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, its leadership, government, and people, on the occasion of Jordanian Flag Day, emphasizing the deep-rooted fraternal and historical ties that bind the two brotherly nations.

He also commended the pivotal role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in supporting the resilience of Palestinian farmers and enhancing their ability to continue production. This support is provided through facilitating export procedures and offering various logistical and technical resources necessary to ensure the smooth flow and export of Palestinian agricultural products to regional markets, thereby contributing to economic development and supporting the Palestinian agricultural sector. During the meeting, the company's operations and financial and operational results for 2025 were reviewed. The General Assembly approved the financial statements and annual budgets, commending the company's outstanding performance during the year.

Minister Slaimiya emphasized the crucial role of the Board of Directors in strengthening governance principles and enhancing institutional performance. He praised the company's positive results and its success in achieving operating profits during 2025.

He also commended the company's achievements in addressing marketing bottlenecks for Palestinian agricultural products, particularly in the avocado and lemon sectors, and its contribution to enhancing marketing and export opportunities for Palestinian farmers.

The company's management presented its plan for the 2026/2027 agricultural season at the Palestinian branch level. This plan focuses on expanding into regional markets and opening new markets for Palestinian agricultural products, especially in Kuwait, Iraq, and Turkey, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Palestinian agricultural exports and increasing their volume. Slaimiya affirmed that the Ministry of Agriculture, through a grant from the World Bank, will establish an agricultural export center in the Jericho area. This center, the first of its kind in Palestine, aims to provide comprehensive services to Palestinian agricultural exporters, enhance their export capabilities, and develop the Palestinian agricultural export system.

At the conclusion of the meeting, elections were held for the Board of Directors, resulting in the election of new members. The chairmanship of the General Assembly and the Board of Directors were also transferred from the Palestinian side to the Jordanian side for a two-year term, in accordance with the company's established procedures.

In closing, Minister Slaimiya expressed his gratitude to the Board of Directors, the executive management, and the company's staff for their tangible achievements during the past period. He emphasized the importance of continuing joint efforts to strengthen the company's role in serving the Palestinian and Jordanian agricultural sectors, supporting farmers, developing agricultural exports, and enhancing economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
