Slaimiya discusses with the village councils of Ain Shibli and Bardala their agricultural needs and ways to support farmers and enhance their resilience.

Minister of Agriculture, Professor Riziq Slaimiya, met with a delegation from the village councils of Ein Shibli and Bardala, including the head of the Ein Shibli village council, Mr. Hussein Abu Hatab, and the head of the Bardala village council, Mr. Zayed Sawafteh, at his office in the Ministry headquarters in Ramallah. The meeting, which was also attended by Assistant Undersecretary, Engineer Hussam Talib, addressed the agricultural needs of the two villages and ways to support farmers and strengthen their resilience on their land.

During the meeting, representatives of the two councils outlined the most significant challenges facing the agricultural sector in the two areas, particularly in light of settler attacks, the prevention of farmers from accessing grazing lands, and the confiscation of land, all of which negatively impact agricultural activity, livestock, and the livelihoods of the residents.

They also discussed a number of agricultural needs and priorities, most notably supporting the livestock sector, providing water pipelines, and establishing and rehabilitating irrigation networks. These measures aim to contribute to the development of the agricultural sector and improve farmers' ability to continue working and producing. Salimiya emphasized the Ministry's commitment to supporting farmers and bolstering their resilience, particularly in areas targeted by the occupation and settlers. He stressed the importance of directing agricultural interventions and projects to meet farmers' needs and help them remain on their land and continue cultivating it.

For their part, representatives of the village councils of Ein Shibli and Bardala commended the Ministry of Agriculture's efforts and interventions in support of the agricultural sector. They emphasized the importance of continued coordination and cooperation to meet farmers' needs and strengthen their resilience in the face of challenges targeting their existence and their land.
